We meet on Sunday mornings at above address. In addition we have a small building used for other meetings as well as our church office. This address is West Glasgow New Church, Summerfield Centre, 21 Smith St., Glasgow G14 0RX. 

About Our Church

West Glasgow New Church was formed in February of 1989. We have always met in public buildings, starting off in Knightswood Secondary School. Now, our Sunday Services take place in Cleveden Secondary School (map) in the West End of Glasgow. You are welcome to attend the communion service at 10.00am and the family service at 11.30 am. We meet for tea and coffee between the services at 11.00am. Members of WGNC come from all over the Greater Glasgow area but the majority live in the West End. Coming from all kinds of backgrounds, walks of life and church experience, our priority is to demonstrate distinctive christian character in the communities in which we are involved. We are united by our belief in, and love for, Jesus Christ as revealed in God's message , the Bible. We believe in the participation of all believers in service and worship, acknowledging that God has gifted our members to contribute in different ways.

Statement of Beliefs

As Christians, we believe that God took the initiative to create all that exists, to reveal Himself to us as His people and, above all, to restore our relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. We believe that His son, Jesus Christ, died for us on the cross and rose from the dead. We believe that God can be known and that relationship with Him begins with acknowledging our rebellion and submitting ourselves to Him. We believe that God gives His Holy Spirit to all who believe in Him, to live in and through them, in transformed lives. We believe that the Bible, through which we come to hear of God's forgiveness and love, is a reliable and trustworthy guide for our ongoing relationship with God. We believe that all people are accountable to God for their lives, therefore sharing the news of forgiveness through Christ is of paramount importance.  We believe that our broken relationship with God can be repaired only through Jesus Christ. We believe that we bring worship to God by participation in membership of God's family.

Church History

WGNC was created in 1989 when around 80 people decided to worship together at Knightswood Secondary School. These people decided to establish a new and fresh way of worship by using the weekly Sunday services to review scripture and establish God's guidance for the way the church should be administered. The church subsequently grew to its current number of between 150-200 and moved first to Broomhill Primary School, then on to Anniesland College and finally to our current home at Cleveden Secondary School.
